Kathy and Mel had been together for twenty years, but they decided to get married in 2008. The date was set for 8-8-08 - chosen because it was believed to be lucky. It was a beautiful sunny summer day.

The ceremony took place at the Town Hall Register Office, followed by a meal at a nearby Tapas bar. The reception was on August 21 at the Miramar Hotel. The two events were spaced a couple of weeks apart to make them manageable.
