11 - Justice | ||
The Fool listens attentively as the Hermit proclaims that all is chaos despite human attempts to impose order. Balance, fairness, virtue and honour are the best that could be striven for, he says. But to try and calculate a just outcome was difficult if not impossible. He produces an abacus to demonstrate a precise way of solving a problem - but smoke blows up from the hearth and obscures his vision as he moves the beads. He becomes annoyed and forgets what he was trying to prove. Fate does not understand fairness. |
